Booksonline is a project run by the French designer Pierre Hourquet. Using the format of a book as a conventional method of displaying photography, Booksonline is a good example of an updated version of this convention, introducing a refreshing digital form for the art book and zine.

AND Public is a platform for the production and dissemination of artists’ self-publishing using print-on-demand.

Print-on-demand is a printing process in which new copies of a book are
not printed until an order has been received, allowing for short runs,
low production costs, immediate response to an audience, and almost no storage.
We see this as an extension of a creative and sustainable practice.

How it works

1. You develop your book – AND give you tips.
2. You decide which print-on-demand service is right.
3. Upload your pdf to the printer’s online server.
4. The printer will process, print, bind and ship to you.
5. AND will feature your book in our online shop and at X Marks the Bökship.

AND Public is also currently holding a Self-Publishing Surgery.

The Erotic Book Club 3rd Birthday: Confessional / Thursday 26 April 2012, 8pm

leave a comment »

Each year on our anniversary we turn the tables and set our readers a writing challenge. This year we’re asking you to anonymously submit a short confessional story to be read out at the April Book Club.

We’ve set up a special page on our site for you to submit your piece without letting us know who you are, so no need for red faces. Stories should be no more than 1500 words.
